Happy Bank holiday to you all, I’ve been cursed with a tummy bug so I’m feeling rather naff!
On the flip side, I’ve got My printer working again thanks to Mr K sorting it out and bringing it back to life! So of course I’ve had a back log of pdf patterns to print off and 1st on my list and a part of my #makenine2018 is Tilly and The Buttons free pattern and tutorial to make your Slipper Boots.
I don’t know about you but I’m a bugger for going through slippers and they are my favourite footwear, if I could I would wear them to work 😂
My fleece and jersey was from B and M Fabrics in Leeds and I bought half a metre of each and it worked out just under £7, don’t mind that as it’s sometimes more to buy slippers from the high street!
I already have the cotton wadding, thread and Sock Stop in my stash so no need to be hunting down any extras!
The pdf itself is only 8 pages and I soon pieced and taped it together and got onto cutting out my pieces.
Tilly’s instructions as always are very clear and I whipped these up quickly but I did start them Saturday afternoon and finished Sunday morning as I wasn’t feeling too good so if I had my ‘A’ game on its be a few hours.
To add some grip to these as I do have wooden flooring in my house, I added Sock-stop to my soles and if course I don’t do normal, I drew on hearts lol.
Now this had to dry for a minimum of 12 hours…. nooooo! This was hard as I wanted to wear them straight away!
But here they are and of course I won’t be taking them off at all today!! So what have you been up to this Easter weekend?
My Sewing Mojo has gone a little awol so if you do see it please tell it to get it’s ass back home!
So I decided to make myself a cute little companion whilst I’m sewing, plus it breaks up the norm of making clothes for a change!
I received the Rose Pin Cushion Pattern many moons ago from the lovely Michelle of Michelle Patterns and for some reason I haven’t tackled it till now! Bad Sally! But i think I’ve done it justice though!
This pattern is a great stash buster as it doesn’t require a lot of fabric at all. So I raided my Stash and found these beauties of cotton that i purchased from B and M Fabrics in Leeds earlier on in the year. Who can say no to Swallows, Bows and Polka Dots, very retro!
Now if you don’t have any batting you can use fleece instead but that is a separate piece you need to print here as it isn’t included in the original pdf but no worries, you now know where to find it 🙂 I had plenty of Batting as i bought loads when i made the kids their Advent Calendar last year and with the intention of making my own handbag but just never got round to that either!!
You really do have to refrain from overfilling the Petals as it’s all too easy to say “I need more” but it really doesn’t as it puffed out underneath. So please listen to Michelle’s instructions!
You can see this coming to life really quickly and it is a very satisfying sew as it is really pretty, I love the rose and leave details! A very cleaver pattern indeed and it doesn’t take you ages either, i completed mine in an afternoon even when i confused myself with making the strap, i had a total blonde moment I sewn the band the wrong way round and it didn’t turn out to the right side, doh!!
So here it is, sitting so pretty on my wrist with and without pins, I can’t seem to take it off even when I’m not Sewing! Hahaha!
A big thank you to Michelle at Michelle Patterns on letting me have this fantastic pattern to review, i can see myself making these for a few sewing buddies for Christmas!

Can you believe we are officially into June now! That means that Sew Up North is on the 24th of this month!! Yay!!
Now we have decided to cap tickets/goody bags to 120 people as the Belgrave Music Hall will nicely seat 120 of us without feeling cramped and can you imagine 120 goody bags to make up too with all these generous freebies and flyers we have received that we are putting together out of our own pockets. So you best be quick to get a ticket and RSVP now before it’s too late!
Now next on our list of appreciation of our sponsors is the ever so fantastic B and M Fabrics!!
Whenever i go to Leeds, I do have to make a stop at B and M Fabrics!! It’d be rude not too!!
They have such an array of Fabrics its amazing and the prices are fantastic! Especially if you’re a true Yorkshire lass and don’t like to part with monies or have to comment “how much?!”. Hahaha!
There have 2 sites within the Kirkgate Market, On the outside of the Market itself, a Bricks and Mortar Shop and then a stall inside:
They have kindly donated a £20 Gift Voucher to the Raffle Prize Pot!! Also for attendees on the day, you can save 10% off your purchase of £15 or more!!!! That is seriously dangerously for Becca and myself as no doubt we will be filling our boots then and in preparation of the day writing our Sewing Fabric List ready for the day!
I was only there on last Saturday and i was good and only bought these few things!! The Leaf print is for the Serena Skirt from Simply Sewing Magazine and the Duck Egg and Swallow Print Fabric is for the Deer and Doe Datura Blouse 🙂
See i can be resist when i want too!! Hahaha!
Thank you B & M Fabrics, you are awesome!!
I’ve finally getting round to blog my creations, sometimes you just concentrate on the Sewing and then forget to add it onto the blog! Dur!
